1/30/2007- Welcome Windows Vista Calendar
Windows Vista launches today, including a great new application, Windows Calendar that lets you sync with our site. Please check our Windows Vista Help pages for more info on how to try it out or for information on getting Windows Vista.
1/10/2007- New faster servers, microformat support
CalendarData.com has moved to new faster servers. There are still a couple of rough edges to work out but there should be lots of changes coming over the next few weeks. Also with this update we added support for Microformats to make it easier to copy events out of our calendars into other applications.
12/5/2006- Support for Windows and Mac Calendar Apps
Over the past week we have made a number of improvements focused on good support for the Mac iCal application and the new Windows Vista Calendar. One of the many new features in Windows Vista is a built-in calendar application that can sync to ICS feeds, and we are happy that it is such a great partner for our site. You can use either application to subscribe to individual calendars or else you can subscribe to the calendars of your choice using CalendarData.com and sync from the My Calendars page to get them all at once.
9/29/2006- Live Clipboard Support
CalendarData.com now has support for Live Clipboard copy and paste of events. You will see this icon next to events on the site- this means you can click on the icon and copy the event and paste it into other applications that support Live Clipboard or into the new event feature on this site. We think Live Clipboard is an important part of the new set of standards like RSS, ICal and Microformats that will enable web-sites to work well together and are excited to be the first production site (to our knowledge) to support it.
8/29/2006- New Calendar and Event Links
We are working on improving the appearance of the site. In the meantime the site has been updated to enable you to associate a link with a given calendar or event. A page of developer information is also available now with info on how to use a calendar from CalendarData.com in your own site.
8/10/2006- Firefox Support
Today the CalFeeder sync application has been updated to support Firefox users correctly. Just log in using either Internet Explorer or Firefox and CalFeeder will automatically be able to authenticate to sync your subscribed feeds.
7/17/2006- More Site Updates
Another major set of site updates is online now. We have improved the feed displays to make it quicker to get to the list of events you are looking for. Also you can now create new calendars and events on the site. Calendars can now be wiki-like so anyone can contribute to and correct the calendars on the site.
6/28/2006- New CalFeeder Sync Tool
Today there are a few updates to the site. The CalFeeder sync tool has been improved so that it will auto-update itself as new capabilities are added. It also now is much more responsive while doing a synchronization and does better status reporting. Please install the new version.
6/15/2006- CalendarData.com is Live
CalendarData.com is now live and open for new account sign-ups. At this point its probably an exageration to call it a beta and its likely that quite a bit of the site will change in the near future. However we believe in the philosophy of shipping early and adjusting based on user feedback so we are going forward at the earliest possible time. This site is a calendar aggregator. You can easily import calendars from other services and see calendars that other users have imported. Subscribe to the events that interest you and run our software to automatically synchronize those events to your Outlook calendar. Please enjoy and send us feedback!
5/21/2006- New Site Launch
Today is the launch of a new site- CalendarData.com. This site will be dedicated to the notion of sharing XML-based calendar data. Initially we are using RSS + xCal following the format exposed by Trumba. This site will eventually be related to some other things coming soon. For now there is no way to contribute events to the feeds on this site but that will be coming soon also.
